Regional trail planning
We help identify where new trails belong and how existing ones connect, working across agencies so the network makes sense on the ground.

Yuba Watershed · Nevada City, California
Yuba Trails Stewardship brings volunteers, land managers, and neighbors together to plan, build, and care for the trails of the Yuba watershed — from foothill oak woodlands to the river canyons.
Our Work
We coordinate community partnerships to identify, develop, and maintain pedestrian trail infrastructure on public lands throughout the watershed. Every mile is shaped by the people who hike, run, and ride it.
We help identify where new trails belong and how existing ones connect, working across agencies so the network makes sense on the ground.
Volunteer crews construct new tread, armor drainages, clear brush, and restore damaged land so trails last for generations.
We give land managers and trail users a shared forum to talk, plan, and solve problems together.

From the Trail
Rock walls, bridges, signs, and miles of new tread, all built by the crews and volunteers who show up.

Volunteer
Our trails are built by volunteers. Whether you can give one morning or every weekend, there is a place on the crew for you.
Tell us a little about yourself and we'll reach out with upcoming projects.

The Trail Center
The Trail Center is where tools get sharpened, projects get planned, and the trail community gathers. Stop by, meet the crew, and see what's coming up next.
